Jumping on a trampoline may be associated with children’s fun. Contrary to appearances, it is also an activity that more and more adults decide to do. It has become so popular that it can be called a sport, namely jumping fitness. Not everyone who jumps on a trampoline practices this sport, so it is worth learning what it is and how to properly perform the exercises related to it.
A few words about jumping fitness – what is it?
Jumping fitness – some call it trampoline dancing. In practice, it is a cardio workout that involves jumping or swinging to the rhythm of music. During the exercises, you can use various techniques, depending on the intensity of the training. In addition to jumping, you can also run in place or straddle. In principle, jumping fitness aims to improve your fitness, warm up the body, and stimulate all the muscles to work. Both fitness and ground trampolines can be used for exercises.
What exercises should you do on a trampoline?
Trampoline training really gives you a wide range of options. There are many techniques, and choosing the right one depends primarily on your goals. However, it is important to remember that each exercise should be performed under the supervision of a personal trainer. A full workout can consist of:
– straight jumps – as the name suggests, the idea of this exercise is to jump in a straight line with your arms along your body,
– jumps with a kick – during jumps, you should alternately lift your legs, and when landing, connect them,
– running in place – while remaining in the central part of the trampoline, you should, while slightly bouncing, place your legs and arms as if you were jogging. You can develop this exercise by gently touching your buttocks with your heels or by raising your knees,
– jumping jacks – an exercise performed in the same way as on the ground, but on a trampoline,
– stretching – during each jump, you should straighten and stretch your arms as high as possible upwards,
– elbow-knee – when jumping, you should try to touch the opposite knee with your elbow. For example, the right elbow connects with the left knee during the jump.
These are just a few examples of exercises. They can be supplemented with others that will develop specific muscle groups. What else can you expect from jumping fitness, apart from strengthening your condition?
What are the benefits of jumping fitness?
This discipline is practiced not only by amateurs of various sports, but also by professionals. The number of benefits provided by jumping fitness is countless. However, its basic advantages can be listed. These include:
– rapid burning of fat tissue – jumping on a trampoline brings even several times better results than running. It is an ideal option for people who want to lose unnecessary kilograms. An hour of jumping is enough to burn about 800-1000 kcal,
– body shaping – regular jumping fitness will allow you to build a shapely, proportionate figure,
– improving motor coordination – by combining jumps with the above techniques, we train our body motor skills, and above all leg-arm, leg-leg, hand-arm coordination,

– strengthening muscles – exercises engage almost all muscle groups, which is why they are automatically strengthened.
Can jumping fitness be practiced at home?
Many people are not convinced about exercising in public places, especially during the first training sessions. This raises the question – will jumping fitness be equally effective at home? Yes, provided that you seek advice from experts first. You will also need a trampoline. You can buy a typical one for fitness classes, but an excellent, universal product will be ground trampolines.
Speaking of them, it is worth noting that ground trampolines are also installed in parks, on sports fields and on some playgrounds. So you can carry out your training in such a location.
